Spain: The architects were the Dutch

The mood is not  ecstatic in Holland .The same to their supporters around  the world.  However, it  was a contest... "the beautiful game".

Reflecting back :

The Dutch should reflect back a little. The current display by the Spaniards is the ingenuity of the Dutch. Three legends, (1988-96),(1997-2000 and 2002-03) and (2003-08). planted the seed at the Nou Camp(FC Barcelona). Look at the success of the club in recent past.

The old invisible hand  was rewarded.

Parting shot: Maybe, the Dutch should consider returning back to a tampered "The Total football" philosophy.

The African spirit lives-on......

The African continent has been transformed. "Yes - transformation...!". It was once regarded as the Dark continent. Today, the continent is the silver-lining to the rest of the world.

How  did Africa in this case( the Rainbow nation ) become World-cup hosts?. Without his influence in the Fifa's board room , it would have remained just a dream for Africa to host the on-going extravaganza. He introduced rotation method despite great opposition from certain quarters.
The man is an African, where the spirit lives-on. Jo'burg you owe this man and his right hand men in the Fifa's board room.

Ghana bow-out but.......

The Black Stars were just unlucky. It was not to be. "Yes- fate...!". Ghanaian's  leave Jo'burg with their tails-up.
Their tactics worked well.   However, they require to improve on dead ball situations .Tomorrow is another day.

Diego Armando Maradona : Can you suffocate the German's machine?

The memories of Armando in his hey days are still flesh. He played against the German's machine in two succesive World-cup finals (1986 and 1990).  From a players point of view, he knows the Bavarians very well.

Pundits are quick to ask, can he transform his genius into players blood vessels?....... His predecessor's mistake in the substitution, made Argentina pay dearly. Rewinding a rematch between Armando's troops versus the German's machine.

Good Luck !

Lessons for Cameroon and Ivory Coast

The Black Star becomes the third African team to ever reach world-cup quarter finals after Cameroon and the Lion of Teranga (Senegal). It’s has been along road for the Black Stars since the days  of this tactician.
Many soccer pundits believe that, Ghana would have recorded good results longtime ago. However, the country’s football federation was engulfed into useless politics that surrounded Anthony Yeboah and Abedi Pele Ayew(his son Andrea Ayew, showing the father the way).
The current team is a continuity of 2006 world-cup squad and inclusion of under- 17 and 21 years.

Politics in the Lions Den

A mountain of blame is directed to Paul Le Guen for the Lion’s failure to progress. The team did not lose the crucial game against Japan as a result of playing the Inter-Milan striker on the wing. He can play anywhere in the final third. With the Catalans, he had five successive seasons before club politics over shadowed the real business (professional soccer).
The problem in the Lions Den is one or two players. Their better days are behind them. They spoilt the team’s spirit because they are politically connected.
Paul Le Guen , followed  his fellow  countryman ,Claude Le Roy. He introduced Choupo-Moteng(21-Hamburg), Joel Matip(18-Schalke04),Nicolas Nkoulou(20) and Vincent Aboubarkar (18-Coton Sporting)into the big stage.  This is a straight message to Cameroon federation- go back to the youth development.
Le Roy fielded Eto’o in 1998 world-cup before he was 17 years. The federation has the opportunity to use Eto’o to inspire and build a winning out-fit for tomorrow.

Ivory Coast

Like the Ghanaians, most of the players in the Ivory Coast, participated in 2006 world-cup. They have matured, great exposure and experience. The main problem in this squad is lack of Conviction.
What is in yellow jersey and blue shorts?  Again, Sven Goran Erisson is too respectful to the Samba dance.

Parting shot: Black Stars have 50% chance to move next step(semi finals)and get into soccer history. Good luck!

African teams must separate the two ( God and witch-doctors)

My grand father  was a traditionist yet he believed that there was only one God-“Ngai wa Kirinyaga”. Nothing has changed or will ever change that fact, even if the whole world turn Sodom and Gomorrah.(I sound too much of  a conservative, don't worry  it's the African thinking).
Listen, He said, let there be heaven and earth and so it was, let there be day and night , it remains as such to this day. And so the story continues. However, God was not done yet. He required a watchman to enjoy his good work. And, He created a man in his own image.  And so, God is fatherly, caring, efficient and the best of all pragmatism.

Back to the story:

Most  of African players participating in the World-cup 2010 ply their trade in the top European leagues. Over the years, they have learnt  the European tactics and strategies and therefore it was a matter of combining with  African ways of doing things.

But Look, what are impediments that continue to harper the African teams :-
a)     a) Have you stopped visiting the witch-doctors and sorcerers . I cannot comprehend a striker in English Premier cannot tap the ball in the net, from a metre or two.

b)      b)Junk food is part of your  menu. The African food remains sorghum, millet, sweet potatoes, yams and thats why he is still dancing   and company  of the 1990s. African teams must always remember it's not how well you play, but how many goals did you score

Forced to dance "Loketo"-3 big clubs

Three big European clubs, namely :- "The Blues", "The White angels" and "Rossoneri" were dumped out of champions league the other day.

a) "The White angels" -The club is a victim of the directors believe that "money" can buy anything including "LIFE".(Life is precious, only God has the key). Since  his exit  "the angels" lost the rhythm . What was the original vision? To develop talents to maturity or buying ready made players( i mean buying success at any price)?.
b) "Rossoneri's" sickness is a little acute. They were thrashed  7-2 aggregate by the "Red devils". A begging question, does the owner know this fellow ...? Give him a purse with some Italian Lira, allow the fellow to tour  Africa and else where. Then, ask for results in the third season.
c) Who's to blame for the  "Blues" misfortune...? First, the owner requires some "massage" to allow the chemistry of soccer sink in his body. Changing tactician as if they were a garment called  thong, will only
aggravate the problem. Now that  Carletto is in town, let him reorganize the team plus a trip to Africa will do a trick or two...

Have a wonderful sporting weekend......

Still cruising, eating soccer and of course, fun....!
